I've been tossing around the idea of having Assmanarama 2009 in downtown Las Vegas. They've been doing a lot to fix up the hotels and casinos there to bring in a younger crowd. The Golden Nugget has made the most improvements.
Downtown is generally cheaper, but it is also smaller and doesn't have the glitz and absurdity of The Strip.

I vote downtown -- the fun rests with the guests, not the glitz
As much as I love downtown, I think we are going with the strip and take a trip or two downtown. Maybe a party bus?
